A born and bred fourth-generation Vancouverite, Colleen Hardwick was headed for a career in Urban Planning before a twist of fate launched her into a 20-year career in the film industry.
Visionary entrepreneur, businesswoman, and urban geographer, Colleen brings a unique perspective to all her endeavours. She has been recognized as an “Influential Woman in Business” by Business in Vancouver Magazine, as “One of the 13 Most Important People in the B.C. Film Industry”by the Financial Post, she received a “40 Under 40” Award for entrepreneurship from Business in Vancouver Magazine, as well as numerous other awards for her films and for MovieSet.com. In 2010 Colleen founded New City Ventures which is currently involved in the creation of PlaceSpeak.com; a location-based community-consultation platform designed to advance participatory democracy.
